Wonderful, FREE, day out which will surprise you with the expanse and diversity of the collection .. ..On a sunny day, bring a picnic lunch to enjoy with lawns and sunshine .. .. Free street parking on the nearby streets and the (free for now) MAX MAIN bus stops on Main but does involve some uphill walking .. .. Surprising amount of Impressionist works by Monet & Pizzaro .. .. Monet's WATER LILIES are now showcased in a 10-minute exhibition that highlights the work with dusk and sunset environments .. .. The collections span all the disciplines from BC to American Landscape artists .. .. A neat cafe is located in the center of the museum (11A-2PM) .. .. A WONDERFUL DAY OUT!!

Staff is unfriendly. Map is not very explained. Parking is too expensive. Print on exhibits is too small.

Outstanding collection of fine art. The museum itself is beautiful. Pace yoursef to view both levels. Very relaxed environment. Be sure to download the free Smartify app on your phone. It easily scans and will identify artwork and gives access to audio content.

An easy walk through this museum and a wonderful collection of art from around the world. The Impressionist exhibit is superb with a special Monet collection. The Native American section features many artifacts including blankets, jewelry, dolls, pipes and more. The Asian wing us breathtaking with sculptures from different periods. And so much more. I did not eat lunch but the garden cafe us almost a work of art itself! There is no charge to enter the museum but you must make a reservation to get in due to Covid restrictions. A must during a Kansas City visit.
