The museum complex, located in Schifferdecker Park, is a little known resource. The mineral exhibits are wonderful and the history section has a wide variety of artifacts, including cookie cutters.

I loved visiting here and learning about the old Joplin and the way things use to be. you can see how it was like to live back then, and old restaurant decor. Youi can also see famous athletes and famous criminals that were from joplin or passed by like Bonnie and Clyde, you can still see their shot up door... More

I have visited this museum multiple times since I was a child. I enjoy the rocks and minerals and the local history that is displayed. It is small, but it's a great place to visit to escape the heat of summer or the freezing winter.

Diverse assortment of museums. Cookie cutter museum is the only one like it I've seen. Some good description of Joplin's history that helped understand a city we were just driving thru. Worth a quick stop,

Unfriendly staff, small conglomeration of museums. The circus display is quite good. It does have the world's smallest cookie cutter musem.

The Museum is small but has some very interesting items in and tells small but good history about Joplin in a compact space. The admission is free. Worth the stop

I've started taking visitors to the area to our local museum. It may not look like much from the outside but the displays are very interesting and there are many to see. Everything from the life size firetruck to the circus. A very good selection of items to show the past of Joplin.

The complex is several museums under one roof. There is something for almost everyone. Youngsters will enjoy the big rocks in the mineral museum, the antique fire truck and the circus museum. The mineral museum has an extensive explanation of Joplin's early mining history and will keep a rockhound or fan of 19th and 20th century industry busy. There are... More
