It's now been over two years ago. When my Son passed the Missouri Bar and so I went out there to get him sworn in as a lawyer. Now to be fair the state capital of Missouri is out in the middle of nowhere. By that I mean it is classic Midwestern Farmland country. It is also never going to... More

This was a great experience for us. We were here to ride the Katy trail but it rained in the morning and we decided to see e Capitol. Parking at a meter was easy for two hours. The tour was excellent including having the Thomas Hart Benton murals explained to us in detail. Such a great place! I learned a... More

Our family visited the historic sites in Jefferson City to allow our 4th grader who is learning about Missouri a chance to make a connection to school. We enjoyed the tour of the building and seeing items from Missouri's past. The State Park sytem does a great job greeting visitors.

So many times we don't take the opportunity to visit our capitol but thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The building is beautiful and loved looking at the architecture.

The portraits of past governors and the summaries about them were extremely interesting. There's a section on the USS Missouri including a brass model built by the Navy to determine placement of radio antennas. I can't forget the Des Moines Palmyra mail coach - I just wish we could have gotten in it!

This is definately a place to visit. Good exhibits on the main floor. Tours led throughout the building. Be sure and see the Thomas Hart Benton murals. The frescos are to die for as are the architectural details throughout the building. If the weather is good, get a picnic together and visit the fountains on the backside of the capitol... More

Visiting the Capitol with the grandkids. They enjoyed it and learned some things about our state and Capitol. I was disappointed in all the repairs that were so noticeable, Peeling paint and cracks in the walls and the cracks in the walkways around the grounds. I have always considered this one of the most beautiful capitols in the country but... More

Was in town on business and took advantage of my central location. Enjoyed walking around downtown in rain and sunshine and was much enjoying the gorgeous trees.

We enjoyed the grounds, the building, the paintings, the museum on the first floor, and most of all, the Thomas Hart Benton murals. We did take a 45 minute guided tour and learned a lot from the guide, but you will need to go back and spend some time by yourself to really appreciate the sights.
