About
Puddleduck Vineyard is a family run vineyard in Southern Tasmania. the family welcomes you to taste our beautiful cool climate wines that have been both grown and made onsite at our friendly cellar door, which is open from 10 - 5 daily. We only sell our wines here at Puddleduck so be sure to call in and enjoy a taste and perhaps a snack from our grazing menu,(cheese platters, dips, vineyard platter) or you can "Reverse BYO" (bring your own food to enjoy in our outdoor areas) while enjoying one of our beverages or a wine tasting. We have a wide range of duck items in our "Everything Ducky Duck Shop" where if it looks, walks or sounds like a duck it is most likely for sale! Families are welcome and children kept busy in our playground or feeding the multitude of ducks and guinea fowl while mum and dad enjoy a wine tasting or hot beverage.

- Ellie CHobart, Australia25 contributionsFantastic venueWe recently hired the deck space to host a milestone birthday party with about 20 in attendance, aged 19 to in their 80s We had nothing but positive experiences with the staff, both on the day and in the lead up when we were organising the booking. They were always really obliging and helpful, and so friendly to all our guests. We were helped by it being a beautiful day, but the space overlooking the pond was lovely and watching the ducks and dragonflies was gorgeous We opted for some of the catering platters and I’m really glad we did - the prices look a little high on paper at first, but the platters feed a large group (we were given an estimate of each feeding about 8 people each, which seemed to ring true on the day) and, having created similar platters myself in the past, I would say the prices were really fair and reflective of the quality of the food used.HI Ellie - thank you so much for your review - I'm so pleased that you and your group enjoyed everything and the platters too!Written 22 August 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited January 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 16 January 2023

- Alex R3 contributionsAdd This To Your List Of Places To Visit In TasmaniaBrilliant. Such a great story, and a great family business. Their wines are as good as you will find in Tasmania, we bought two of the four we tasted on the day. The tasting session was excellently lead, and was accompanied by a delicious board of locally produced foods, including the freshest, cleanest oyster I think I have ever tasted, also sourced from the waters locally. Don’t miss out on this rare place, make the effort, it’s definitely worth it.Hi Alex, Thanks so much for your lovely words its great to hear that you had a wonderful time! Hi Rhonda - thanks so much for taking the time to leave a review. please dt hear that you had a nice time with us. Unfortunately we can't do anything more to lower our prices - hand crafted, small scale, cool climate wines do cost more to produce (small scale, lower yields and all done by hand not machines does cost more) but hey the quality is amazing too!!

Thoroughly enjoyed the wine tasting overlooking the duck pond. Wines were flavorful, unique, and crisp. Try the Riesling! Great lunch. A fantastic family business.

Enjoyed our visit. At a recent family event we enjoyed the Pinot Noir and were very impressed so we called into Puddle Duck to get some wine for my wife’s birthday.

A $5 tasting fee, we were seated outside, and Tom took us thru some of the wines, but it was a little cold outside so we moved inside. Its nice you can BYO your own picnic, I feel the place is more about the Duck Theme, than the quality of wine. They do have a very good selection of wine type cards, with great saying on them eg, WINE because no great story ever started with someone eating a salad.

Hi Still49,
Lovely that you enjoyed our Everything ducky duck shop! Yes it is full of duck themed things which is great when not everyone in the group wants to participate in wine tasting. Wine is what we do - Puddleduckers is who we are 😊🦆

We stopped in for a wine tasting on a very cold day. Paid the $15 p/p for a paddle and directed outside to an area where it was covered in parts and left. Sat for 10 mins waiting till eventually we got up and asked for our money back. There were other people sitting inside in the warmth.

Dear 940carroll,
I understand that you have now spoken with management and realise that this is the tasting you chose to do - our self guided outdoor paddle.
You did choose to do our outside paddle on the deck (which is covered and heated) on a cool Tassie day.
You could have also easily chosen to sit inside in the warm like the others you mention.
We are sorry you weren’t able to communicate this to us earlier in the visit on the day before leaving 😢🦆

Sorry went there in a day trip. But any in the region would be good and probably cheaper than Hobart
