I started by walking through the trails at Fishing Point Park which were lovely and simple to do. Once I arrived at the steps and began the climb, I determined that I’ll definitely die when I hike Gros Morne Mountain next week. Haha! There are just less than 500 steps, but they’re steep! Thank goodness for the several landings on which to rest and snap pics. The view at the top was worth and if you’re a hiker, I suggest continuing on the trails at the top because the views get even better and it’s not all that strenuous. Bring a windbreaker if you’re going to do the extra trails!…

My friend counted 452 steps from the bottom of the cemetery. They are well maintained and doable with breaks. We say a guy run up and back down before we were 1/2 way up. View was a360 view of The area. Very impressive. Also a small side path at the bottom that you can see the cove from below. Would give it 5 stars most places but there are so many great views throughout NL…

My kids and I climbed the stairs in about the same amount of time it took to find the trailhead. It isn't marked, so you need to access it from a trail next to the cemetery at the end of town, The trail splits - one to the left to a fairly level trail and lookout. The trail to the right that stays closer to the cemetery and it leads to the base of the stairs. The steps are well maintained and felt really solid, even when chasing after my eager kids.…

It’s a pretty cool place to visit and only takes about 45 minutes if you take your time so don’t block off a lot of time for it.
