We dropped into Church if Our Lady of the Lagoon whilst strolling through the delightful cobblestone streets of Monsaraz. The inside of the building is beautiful & definitely worth visiting just to take a look inside.

This is the local church of the village. It is not so large, but there are beautiful tall pillars inside made from different colored marbles or sandstone.

It is pretty from the outside with its location in the middle of this amazing town. However, the interior is rather dark and somewhat dissapointing.

Not much to remember for, this was just another church in a beautiful village. It was quite ordinary really. But if you are in the village, you will get in there for the sake of it.

I wouldn't say that it is a "beautiful" church in terms of its condition and artwork etc, however, the fact that it is standing and still used after many many centuries since it was built in such a location amazed me. The building is incredibly...More
