Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Built during reign of Akbar, it is one of the unique bridges in India. Built over river Gomti, it has Chhatris (small pavilions) on the bridge so that people can stop and gaze at the flowing river below.

Shahi Pul is a wonder specimen of mughal architecture that is struggling to retain its existence due to the market that thrives on it. The hundreds of vendors that do business on it hardly realize how they are systematically destroying it. One find filth all around, posters, banners, strings and wires hanging here and there. Even the boards which should have given the historical past of the bridge is missing. The royal emblem of the Pala kings located nearby too is unmarked. One should not miss the Emarti shop on one end of the Bridge as it is an equally important landmark. The famous sweet of North India owes its origin to Jaunpur.

This is great architecture. I am amazed to think that this bridge is more than 400 years old and still in traffic use.
One should really visit this place if one is in Varanasi or nearby areas.

It is the bridge built for the royal family and the king to travel. This is the route which was used to reach the Shahi Qila

We were lucky there was nobody early in the morning, so it was peaceful. Pity the river was full of green algae - but we came because of amazing architecture of the bridge.

I love jaunpur..happens to be the birthplace of my mom..
So coming here was a must every summer months ..after several years ;I revisited with my son and things have barely changed ..
This shahi bridge is the main bridge that connects the main jaunpur town via hanuman ghat where people come to Yale a dip in the Holy river..
U can spot people washing clothes and few of them who also wait their turn with fishing rods and nets..
Little.dome shaped places along the path of the bridge with few seatings for passersby.
Nothing to miss here ..it's THE route to come within main precincts of town ..
