The Historic Daniel Boone Home at Lindenwood Park features the home of the legendary hero Daniel Boone and his family. The four-story, Georgian style home was built in the 1800's overlooking the Femme Osage Valley. The home, even by today's standards, is still considered large. The village, located behind the home, is comprised of over a dozen 19th century buildings including the Old Peace Chapel, grist mill, schoolhouse, and carpenter's shop. Together these buildings help visitors understand life on the Missouri frontier. As a county park, visitors are welcome to walk around the grounds at their leisure. Guided tours are available of the Boone Home and/or village. Group tours and school group programs available with reservations. Not all buildings are handicap accessible. The Old Peace Chapel is available to rent for weddings and private services. The enhanced shelter is also available for evening rentals.

We stopped here on the way back from the German Shepherd dog show at Pierina Farms, and when we went to the information building we told them the dogs were in the vehicle and they said oh you can bring them in and walk them here we are a park. The dogs aren't allowed inside the buildings, but we were... More

This beautiful outdoor park, nestled at the foot of Daniel Boones last home, comes to life with candle markers that help your journey to neighbors homes, colonial music at the small town church, and magical spells with Miss Hattie at her little store that glows with candlelight and a tough of magic. Stop by the bonfire if there is a... More

I had not been to the Daniel Boone home in years but was intrigued at the idea of a spooky Halloween story-telling adventure. I was not disappointed. Admission was a meager $6 for those who preregistered. The entire homestead was adorned with candles as visitors walked along the paths to each building where a storyteller captivated the audience with a... More

We enjoyed our visit to this amazing home. When I think about the time frame that this home was built and the almost empty frontier that existed around it I'm amazed at the well constructed and large home that it is. It is beautiful. We waited only a while for a tour to the home. The tour was informative, covered... More

Visited this sight and took the guided house tour. Our guide was great. Gave us a short history lesson into the life of Daniel Boone and the Boone family. Step back in time and see the stone home where the family lived. Other building on the sight were brought in from the near by area and restored. We as American... More

On a trip to St Louis I went out of my way to find and go to the Historic Daniel Boone home and was not disappointed. I came from I44 and it was a very scenic drive to get there, past farm fields, rolling hills and old towns. There is good signage along the way and very spotty cell service... More

The moment you pull onto the grounds you feel yourself slip back in time. Suddenly, you are in the year of 1803 and learn how the Boone family came to the rugged hills of Missouri, built this incredibly beautiful home, and forged a friendship with the members of the Osage Nation. While there in the 1800s you learn how the... More

This is off the beaten track along highway 94 outside of St. Louis - a pretty drive when you tire of driving down interstate 70. You can walk among the dozen or so buildings for free or take a tour - which gets you inside - for $8. We opted to meander around the grounds until rain forced us to... More

We enjoyed touring both the Boone home & the village. These are separate tours each taking an hour to complete. The guides were knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Adults & youngsters (8 and above) will be thrilled.
