The kids loved learning about how the fish grow and what is naturally local. Best to do on a sunny day.

Fun stop to see all the fish they raise to put into Lake Tanycomo. We've seen them moving fish before and it is very interesting. Come on over and feed some fish just for the fun of it.

We had taken our small children to the Shepherd of the Hills Fish Hatchery many years ago. We decided to visit again and found the small Visitors Center and the Hatchery very interesting. The center had various aquariums showcasing trout, turtles, bass, as well as lizards, salamanders, snakes and tarantulas. Fun and educational! The property also has a Lake Taneycomo... More

This was fun to take a few minutes to learn about fish hatcheries. There were plenty of fish to see and nice descriptions of what you're seeing. Also the location right behind the big Table Rock dam made it an interesting stop.

This is all free and it's fun for the kids to see all of the trout swimming around. I would recommend the video before going outside as the video does give info about the hatchery. Fun, educational, and free...........what could be better!

The hatchery was educational and the staff were amazing. We brought quarters to feed the trout- fun. There are a couple nice hiking trails there and you can watch some trout fishermen on the lake. Staff helped us map out other things to see and do and helped us find additional hiking trails. Much more than was expected.

We were on a tour and went to the hatchery, it is something to see that we have never seen before. Our tour guide explained the entire operation to us which we found quite interesting

The hatchery has a great 8 minute video describing how the fish are reproduced and cared for until they are released into the wild. The live fish in the outdoor tanks are great for kids of all ages!!!
