Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Lovely well kept beach. We didn’t get to enjoy it at its best due to the weather cutting our trip short, but a really clean stretch of coastline. Good food locations nearby as well. For us it was a great lunch stop on our journey.

Great beach for a family day out, which is not crowed and plenty of tidal frim sand to play ball sports on. You can drive the family car up to the place of your choice. Surf is small and safe for the young kids to try and learn surfing, the only downer we had why we were there was the fact that there were a couple of shark sighting, we quickly had to get out of the water, leaving you not too shure about going back in. It is located about 1 hour drive south from the centre of Adelaide in South Australia.

I moved to Aldinga Beach to live just on 12 months ago - next door to the Aldinga Scrub and 700 meters from Silver Sands Beach. It is one of Adelaide's most beautiful beaches - long stretches of white sand in both directions - either calm or with a gentle swell when it's a bit windy, it's a fabulous swimming beach. It is 6 drive minutes to historic Willunga, within 15 minutes drive of some of Australia's best wineries and restaurants in McLaren Vale and 45 minutes from Cape Jervois where you can catch a ferry to Kangaroo Island for the day or a longer stay. Aldinga Holiday Park is a great place to stay with onsite cabins, yurts and plenty of tent and van spaces. A small swimming pool is also available at the park - a 700 meter walk to the Aldinga Beach through the Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park, from the Holiday Park, makes this an ideal location to enjoy the natural beauty at reasonable rates. Sellicks Beach cliffs are a very easy walk along the beach.

A great beach for family and or friends. Unlike most beaches you are allowed to drive on the beach. The beach is about 40-70m wide so there are always places to park the car and set up some shade and chairs, draw a tennis court or cricket pitch in the sand for a game or do what ever else you see fit while you arer there.
Larger waves are less common than elsewhere (in summer) so it is a great beach for younger kids to go for a swim. (not to say there are no waves though, I have encountered waves up to 3m in summer in previous years)
There are kiosks at either ends of the beach and a softserve van (my whipy), that drives along the beach when it's busy during the school holidays and weekends.
The are reefs at both ends of the beach (Aldinga and Sellicks). great fun for the kidsand adults alike as well as educational.
By far my favourite beach.

We are coast huggers and invariably find ourselves at a beach in Australia or overseas. There are none better than the beach at Aldinga bay. The bay is in a gulf so it's protected and has no rips or undercurrents. It's about 5kms long and has vehicle access via three ramps, Aldinga beach, Silver Sands and Sellicks beach. A no car zone of about 300 mtrs at Silver Sands in front of the surf lifesaving club prevents cars from fully driving from north to South and allows ample space for kids etc to enjoy without looking out for vehicles.
The ands are wide and clean.
Kids can learn to swim and surf without huge waves.
Not much in the way of kiosks but there are toilets and beach showers.
We were walking along it recently and were asked by a couple from Sydney, who were gazing at the sea, whether it's always like this ( a dozen cars along the full length). I said, tongue in cheek, that it's usually not this busy, must be too many tourists!

The beach is beautiful. Not crowded at all. Clean water and sand. Just make sure you drive along the beach road to see all the available accesses to the beach. There is one access that google maps takes you to, which is not a tidy place and has got a lot of sea weeds. Just drive your way along the beach road towards east (Melbourne) and you would find beautiful spots.

I have taveled around the world but Aldinga Beach & just around the corner Port Willunga Beach are to the safest & most beautiful beaches in my opinion. Aldinga beach is are hard packed white sand beach that you can drive right on to, with beach umbrellas, deck chairs, eskis etc it makes it extremely easy to unpack the car.
The fishing is great if you have a kayak or boat as there are plenty of squid, whiting and of course some of the biggest snapper in South Australia. Sometimes sharks are around but usually out to sea.
You must visit the lovely beach if your in The area.

Spent a lazy Sunday afternoon at Aldinga - you can even drive your 2WD street car onto the beach! We ate local fish n Chips (try the crumbed fish) by the beach, had a kayak with friends (the water is not too rough) and went for a lovely walk up the beach. Not too many people ... only down side was the occasional patches of pebbles (which you don't get on Perth beaches)! A great day all in all!

The beach at Aldinga is beautiful! We love that you can drive your car right next to the sea. People were friendly and obliging in the local shops and we enjoyed looking at the beautiful scenery.

What's the water temp in farenheit in mid July? I am bringing wet suit! Thanks,Scott Tucson Arizona.

It’s cold, bloody cold, middle of our winter, sits between 50 and 60 Fahrenheit, but wind chill and rain during July could make it colder.
