Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great view of Hobart city and bridge, I often take new visitors here on their way from the airport to get their bearings and to show off the great view, and it’s free!

The views of Hobart from here were fantastic. Definitely worth going there for the view. A pity about the litter and graffiti - the only graffiti I have seen in Hobart.

Rosney Hill Lookout gives you views all over Hobart.
The day we went you could not see Mt Wellington for the fog.
If you want stunning photos of Hobart this is the place to be.
Also it can be quite cool.
What a view you have of the Tasman Bridge. Something that looks so beautiful but with an unhappy past.
If you walk to the left after looking at the Tasman Bridge you see Bellerive about 15 mins from Hobart. There was a yacht race on when we looked and it was a spectacular sight.

Worthwhile going there & enjoying the great views. If you live in the area & have not even bothered to visit, you won't mind that the council is ok about the big development of a hotel & a training centre. I guess that the hotel guests will really appreciate the area & spend lots so those who want to work can hopefully acquire a job.

One of the most beautiful stops on our cruise to Australia, Tasmania, New Zealand. We stopped here on the way back from Historic Richmond and then returning to our cruise line the Majestic Princess.

If you don't want to go as high as Mount Wellington or Mount Nelson, this lookout gives you a great view of Hobart, the mountains, Derwent River, the bridge and distant islands. Saw lots of tourists up there in cars and tourist bus so its a pity more isn't done to keep the area tidy.

I'm a local and this lookout is abit of an embrassement. The lookout is a great position overlooking Hobart, River Derwent, Mount Wellington & Tasman Bridge. The downside is the council does not take pride in the grounds and usually has overgrown bushes blocking the beautiful view, rubbish everywhere, black burnout marks. If more pride and development to this site was done it would be a high quality lookout.
