A must see for historians in the area. Incredible history and beautiful grounds in the park. Very easy to spend the day enjoying the park and learning of its history.

An important part of the Vicksburg campaign. And a surprise on our trip. Would suggest trim trimming the trees to allow a more historical view from the battery and view of point of rocks

the site is actually pretty important for the civil war but there is not a whole lot of information about it or what actually went on here. It's just a bunch of buildings with some info and a campground. Could be so much more.

The Civil War Military park has tons of sights to see it. The museum is really nice and the staff was so friendly. The ground are beautiful. I would recommend anyone to go there... More

We stayed in the lower campground because of the reviews we had read on other sites. The upper CG as it turned out would have been fine. The road leading to it is rather steep not well maintained. The CG is very nice with level cement pads and full hook ups. It was very clean and though the bathrooms were... More

We accidentally found this park by reading the road signs; so glad we stopped! Many historical artifacts! It is self guided so you can do as little or much as you choose.

Interesting and detailed museum should be taken in before the up to 2 mile drive or walk along some interesting sites. Lovely old Church, Spanish style house and many detailed info boards explaining the happenings during the Battle for Vicksburg. Lovely day when I visited, so walked around, little steep going up, small cemetery was interesting. Couple of small drives... More

Being that our main destination was supposed to be The Vicksburg Nat'l Park, we almost passed up this place. But, we were so glad that we stopped! There were a lot of artifacts and interesting sights in the museum and on the grounds. We got a kick out of the boot leg whiskey submarine (it was a real thing) and... More

If you need tv (unless you have satellite), wifi (unless you have a personal hotspot), and phone service (unless you're willing to travel 5 miles into town), this is not the place for you. But if you enjoy peace and quiet in a beautiful setting, you'll like this campground. There's an upper and a lower campground. You have to go... More

This is truly a hidden gem. It is a campground with very nice campsites that have full hook-ups. It has a museum with artifacts from World War 2 and the civil war. It was a site of battles in the civil war. It also has buildings scattered around the property with a self guided driving tour.It is very picturesque. There... More
