Shearwater Pottery is definitely off the beaten path. Tucked away off a little side street lined with beautiful old trees, you enter a different world of art that is intended to have everyday use. The pottery is beautiful and dishwasher safe. The staff is very friendly and if you are lucky you'll run into relatives of the Anderson brothers that... More

Nice little cabin in a coastal setting, with helpful friendly staff who let you browse without pressure. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Very interesting to see the Anderson family "compound" now run by Anderson descendants. Nice pottery for sale but $$$! Tried to buy a piece but they were not willing to ship it for me (it was a wood sculpture, not a pot).

This place is a feast for the eyes. It has beautiful artwork to view and to buy. The woman in charge was knowledgeable and friendly, a pleasure totally to. It's off a gravel road with a "Slow Turtle Crossing" sign.

It's worth stopping here to view and shop for unusual, well priced local and attractive pottery. It is just down the road from the WalterAnderson Museum.

The influence of Walter Anderson is seen in the beautiful pottery. They also have many original pieces on display that are marvelous! Definitely stop in here while in Ocean Springs!

Lovely to see a family business and property survive the years and thrive! Gorgeous pottery, statuary, and paintings! Very helpful staff and loved that the pottery was being made on site when we visited. Ocean Springs is lucky to have the dedication of so many artists.

Shearwater Pottery was founded by one of the brothers of Mississippi artist, Walter Anderson. Some of the brothers' art and pottery are also on display at the Walter Anderson Museum. The Pottery is tucked out of the way in the woods of Ocean Springs, and visitors are welcome.

I really enjoyed the pottery and artwork displays at the Shearwater Pottery location. The regional influences are evident in the many hand-crafted items on display and available for purchase. There is a small section with items recovered from the Katrina destruction, which are not for sale. Knowledgeable staff.

After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor about Ocean Springs attractions, we visited Shearwater Pottery and discovered why this is highly recommended. We took a nice walk from downtown to this location on a beautiful day. And happily purchased two items from the showcase and helped by a most friendly lady. Colorful and beautiful artwork. And great to learn more about... More
