The Museum's purpose is to collect, document and interpret the history, culture and natural history of the Mississippi Delta. We offer stunning examples of Mississippi's Native American pottery; paintings and sculpture by some of the Delta's most talented artists; Civil War history and military gallery; changing art exhibits; a replication of a Delta swamp.

The permanent collections are extraordinary! When you visit the museum you MUST ask for Cheryl Taylor-Thornhill. As Executive Director she has taken the museum to a new level...almost a "rebirth". She is a wealth of knowledge and great company!

The cost was ten dollars, interesting history about the place and people of Greenwood and the neighboring towns, variety of displays. Excellent service by the staff. I was very pleased considering the size of the place and the renovations happening right now.

Besides a permanent exhibition on the home of the last Choctaw chief, there is a wonderful exhibit of early Indian pottery and trade beads. The museum also hosts traveling exhibits from time to time. Recent remodeling has enhanced the museum's appearance. It is listed as...More
