First off the house was beautifully restored and I am a history buff and have seen several historical houses throughout the nation. I was disappointed in how rude the older gentlemen giving the tour was. Second, the tour was expensive for 10 minutes of info. They could take a lesson from Monticello.

Historical home, plantation of Jefferson Davis. Museum is also on the grounds - displays are average. Toured the house, and grounds. Really found the cemetary interesting, the unknown confederate soldier is buried here, monument. The house survived Katerina - remarkable to see how well the home weathered the hurricane, a tribute to the architect and builder.

Wonderful tour guide by the last name of Shelton I believe. Very knowledgeable and has a good presentation manner. The history of the house itself is very interesting. 2 owners before Jefferson Davis, each giving the home it's flavor. The house tour doesn't take long, there is much more rehab work to be done on it. The grounds are well... More

A lovely mansion of the South. A good tour and a lot of history. Well worth a visit if you want to hear about the true South from the President of the Confederacy. Beautiful old, huge trees for the breaks from the southern humidity and heat. They apparently used camels for transportation and hauling during the Civil War - and... More

Very nice historical tour of Jefferson Davis' house. Was told the water was 1 foot over the floor from Katrina. While we waited in the rocking chairs on the porch for our tour to begin, I walked around to the windows and could take several photos (no flash photography). Great paintings and antique furniture. We had a great guide. Very... More

We were driving through Biloxi and decided to stop at Beauvoir. We had a very interesting tour through Jefferson Davis' home. It was interesting and the home is located in a pretty spot.

Being from out of state and not the south, this was a really interesting stop. Not only did you learn more about Jefferson Davis but you definitely got an education about the Confederacy and the south. The movie, while the narrator seems dates, is worth watching. The house tour is every half-hour and worth it. The oak trees on the... More

If you are staying in Biloxi or have an extra hour or two to spare this place is well worth a visit. It was the final residence of Jefferson Davis, the first and only president of the Confederacy. There is a guided tour which takes a little less than 30 minutes. The guide was very amiable and informative. It is... More
