The falls are as beautiful frozen as they are in the summer. But, I recommend Yak Traks or some other traction enhancement for your boots because the stairs and ramps are icy in winter. A lot of people just walked carefully and held the railings.

Because this state park is shared with a roadside rest you can easily access the hiking trails from the parking lot. The visitor center has clean bathrooms, a gift shop, park display and a fireplace to warm yourself up on cold days. There is a...More

I remember years ago prior to MN building this state park, people would just pull off the road onto the shoulder and park. I'm surprised more people hit. The state park takes everyone off of the roadway. They have a beautiful information center. They have...More

This is one of our favorite campgrounds! The campground books up fast, but it's perfect for families that are car camping. Our site was good, near enough to the bathrooms for little ones making middle of the night potty trips but far enough away to...More

It was a beautiful hike on a warm day, kids wading in the falls, trails dry and safe. We did not go all the way to the lake, but the walk with comfortable wooden walkways and steps was very pleasant

Such a beautiful place on a beautiful day. Of course, not many people around, which was a perfect way to experience the frozen beauty of the falls. Could still hear the water moving beneath though!

We normally go to Goosberry Falls in the summer but this time we were there the first week of December with beautiful weather 40's and sunny. We made the trek and even sat among the frozen falls and had a picnic lunch. I would now...More

Park is a must do but we do not recommend for small children for safetty reasons. Parking is a huge problem at this park and the north shore. Note, park visitors attract serious hikers and may not be patient to others. If you have to...More

It looks like you can buy a one day permit for $5.00 or a year long permit for all 75 parks for $25.00. when we went I didn't know that, drove in, enjoyed the park and left. I didn't see any signs, but found the fees on the... More

The easy answer is this: the highest levels would be after a significant rainfall. I don't think the water flow is controlled by a dam upstream. Sorry I can't be of more help. Call the visitor center for a realistic answer... More
