This lake has exceptionally clear water and is not too crowded any time I have been there. Also has an option of a paid beach that hardly has any folks on it at all at any given time.

We moved here last fall but I'd heard about Square Lake years before as the only place in the Twin Cities, besides indoor pools, that scuba divers train .. because of it's clarity. It's fairly remote and that's only of the reasons I love it....More

Square Lake Park has a very nice beach. The lake is deep with clear water. It is used by local scuba divers for training due to the better than average clearness.

This is a great lake for training new divers in. Visibility was poor (10'-15') but that is expected when you have so many divers in the water. Hitting the bottom is worse because of the silt; staying off the bottom helps keep the visibility clear...More

There still is a trailer park there you might contact ... they would probably know - Golden Acres - (651) 439-1147 - .... or try Homeaway ... I know they did many years ago but I think they're all year round residents now... More
