As an oyster tragic I knew Pambula Lake pumps out amazing Sydney Rocks.
So Broadwater Oysters was on my check out list. What really impressed me is they will sell their AAA ones unopened! They do sell opened ones and you can have them at one of the tables in the jetty.
We booked our “lot” (12 doz) to be picked up in a few days. Anyway once home I could not believe how big they were. On opening there was so much juice that the oysters we’re doing back stroke!
Just stunning. Given we had such a big order the sack “magically “ had a few extra ones when we got home. The location is stunning a great spot to sit in the sun & polish off a quiet doz. Washed down with a suitable white of your choice. Friendly staff to.

Oh my god!! Words can not describe how great of an experience it was to watch and learn how the Broadwater oysters run there buisness and of course tasting the freshest oysters I have had. A massive thank you to mel and sue for giving us the time of day to show us how to shuck oysters, feed us with oysters and cheese and giving us a good laugh.
Everyone needs to go and see this wonderful establishment even if you don’t like oysters it is life changing… loved everyone and everything
Thank you again to the Broadwater oyster team for a great day!

On a recent visit to the Eden area, we chose to have lunch at the Broadwater Oyster Complex at Pambula Lake. We chose to have the Oysters Kilpatrick (the size of the oysters were smaller than we expected). We also chose the Tilba cheese and olive tasting board, which was very good. The seating area has a rustic feel but needs a little TLC to make it more comfortable and appealing for diners. For example, the table where we were sitting was partly broken and the seat was dirty which caused stains to clothing. The setting was idyllic by the edge of Pambula Lake and there were bellbirds in the trees and pelicans in the lake as we enjoyed our food. Wine, beer and soft drinks are available plus on-site parking. All in all, it was an enjoyable experience.

Came for the oysters and went back for the shucked school! Sue and Greg have been running this place for more than 25 years and their dedication and professionalism is obvious to all who visit.
These Sydney Rock oysters, fresh off the pristine Pambula lake, are the best around. I really enjoyed the Shuck School and tour of the operations. Mel was an excellent guide and teacher and very informative. She had me professionally shucking in no time!
Thanks team for a great tour.

Broadwater Oysters: A Must-Visit Destination
If you're looking for a great spot to visit, I highly recommend checking out Broadwater Oysters. Mel, who leads the oyster shucking tour, is a delight to be around and extremely knowledgeable. The location itself is nothing short of magical.

Fairly unimpressive experience really. The oysters were nice enough but only medium in size. We ate them both natural and Kilpatrick.
The venue and service are quite ordinary. Our dozen oysters took forever to get to us on what was not a busy day. The mini sourdough that was served was definitely as described (very 'mini' indeed).
My wife was served crackers as a gluten free alternative but many of the crackers were served broken in pieces from mishandling. It really showed little care.
Not to sound nasty or unappreciative but we didn't find the staff to be particularly warm; more like oyster fishermen moonlighting as wait staff.
The seating area is nothing more than weathered picnic tables that they haven't even bothered to set level and set in an unkept lawn area.
If you want a wine to go with your oysters, bring your own. There isn't any here.
Do I need to go back or would I refer it to my friends? No.
They need to lift their game and provide far better for the not cheap food they offer.
Thanks for trying.

A truly authentic experience, an a fully functional oyster facility.! A really educational session that does justice to the life of the oyster, the oyster farmers and the beautiful surroundings. Host Mel was entertaining and very informative. Would highly recommend!.

Beautiful fresh oysters freshly picked. The best fresh oysters I've had, definitely recommend. Nice spot by the lake to eat oysters and enjoy the quiet. Excellent price too.

Great experience.
A glass of Pinot by Pambula
Lake.
We had the Japanese oysters and the coriander chilli oysters, both delicious.
We also visited for unshucked oysters several times over our holidays.
Hands down freshest and best oysters I’ve ever had.
The people were also very nice and welcoming.

Nice helpfull staff. Bought 4 dozen in their shells to bring back to Melbourne.
Actually also interesting to visit when they are working as the shop is right by the machine that sorts them. You can buy ready to eat and sit on some local pinic area seats by the fishing club and have a feed. They also post them to you and you can order on line.
