- Ray EMoorhead, Minnesota189 contributionsBest hockey venueThe X never disappoints. Perfect venue to watch hockey, good places to eat, memorabilia to purchase, it's just a great time, every time. In the past I've also seen concerts here and it's a great place for that as well. Love the X!Visited November 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 5 November 2023

Parking was convenient, the staff was pleasant, concessions staff also, the food choices were varied. The ushers were paying attention. - walkingthebeachesEdmonton, Canada96 contributionsGreat first time visitA group of us came down for a few hockey games. The venue was clean, relatively easy to get around, and nice atmosphere. The staff were so great and kind, and good to chat with. A suggestion is that if it is your first time and you want to explore the Hockey Lodge, go early before the store gets too full. It was quite a challenge to actually get in and look around. While we understood that we are in an NHL rink, the prices are really getting out of hand for many of the food and drinks. Good bet is to eat and drink before hand to help save some money. Otherwise, have fun and spend what you want, which is what we ended up doing since this was our whole vacation plan. All in all, fantastic venue and grub, great staff and fans.Visited March 2024Travelled with friendsWritten 27 March 2024
- TravelingSoccerLoonSaint Paul, Minnesota6,362 contributionsGood Concert Experience Even Though Such a Large VenueVisited the Xcel to watch The Cure in concert in June 2023. I prefer seeing concerts in much smaller venues like First Avenue or even The Palace. However, for such a large venue, it was still a good concert experience. It helped that we had floor seats, and that Robert Smith performed such an amazing show. However, it was a well-organized venue. No problem with entrance and security checks. Plenty of concession stands to get food or a drink. No lines at the restrooms. Only gripe is security at the concert were a bit annoying pestering people if they were even a few inches out of the row into the aisle.Visited June 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 15 April 2024
- William KimLondon, Canada414 contributionsA great hockey game experience! The Xcel Energy Center is one of the best arenas in the NHL to watch a hockey game, whether you are a visiting or home fan. This is one of the best places to be a visiting fan at too. The fans are wonderful to interact with and there are rarely any nasty encounters with ill-behaved people. This arena is also great in that no matter where you sit, there is no such thing as a bad seat. You will have a great view of the game and action even if you are up in the "nosebleeds". The games are often packed which adds to the experience as well. The crew does a great job of keeping fans engaged throughout the game as sitting in a seat watching hockey players skate back and forth can get tiresome after a while. The arena is also quite clean and easy to navigate. To summarize, if you're going to watch an NHL game, this is one of the better places to do so.Visited December 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 8 May 2024

The Madonna concert was a s@#t show and does not reflect the arenas staff. Celebrate the money you lost for showing up late and not recognizing a sigle hit that was cut short. Not even vegas worthy! Glad
I saw the beastie boys open for you in in the 80's during your hay day when you were non conceited , breaking barriers and awesome best concert I ever saw in Pihilly.

Had a excellent time at the show tonight. But oh boy was some of the staff rude.
We were required to lock up our phones. Which was an inconvenience.
I was told to go ahead, but then some other guy grabbed me and told me to go thru the detector again. Please do not touch people.
Trying to leave was a cluster. Trying to go down the escalator, the crews kept yelling to use the stairs. Then once we finally got downstairs lots of yelling at us. Just not the best venue experience. Hopefully staff can be retrained. I get that everybody is looking for workers, but this place needs actual help.

I have seen all the hockey rinks in the country but the MN Wild - they were the last team. 3 hours before the game on 3/12 all games suspended. Crap! But security at the rink was kind enough to let me get pictures of the rink after I purchased my last puck at the store. Folks here are very gracious and kind.
Very depressed and sad .....

Visited for my 2nd Minnesota Wild game and the venue was fantastic. Nice big walkways, lot of things to check out, and of course had a fantastic time watching hockey. Never fails to live up to its reputation as one of the best arena in the league to catch a game. Plenty of parking garages nearby attached via an indoor skyway system.

This place had a ton of food options which was great for an arena. We had loaded potatoes with philly cheeesteak and Mexican nachos.
We sat at the top of the lower bowl and we had a great view. The area was new and modern. We went there for a hockey game. The crowd was loud but not the loudest that I have been to.
It was also easy to get in and out of the stadium. Parking was closeby for not too much and that was nice.

I am an infrequent visitor to the Xcel Energy Stadium perhaps attending once every 2-3 years for an occasional concert. In seeing the Nathaniel Rateliff concert of November 2nd, I was disappointed to find the venders did not accept cash. As a former business owner for 20 years I am fully aware of the disadvantages of accepting cash. However, as an American citizen, I know that it is critical to the sovereignty of every member of our society that we avoid, at ALL costs, converting to exclusive use of digital currency. The cost and inconvenience of such action rises far above the simple cost of accepting cash. You will not notice my absence, but I will not be supporting cashless venders or venues going forward. My question is simple: was my experience unique to this event or is this the standard operating model for all future events?

They now say no purses or bags. How do you bring in feminine hygiene products with no purse?

I am coming for a GA show
At other venues people line up very early (like 9 a.m.) to get in line for entrance into the show
Where will people wait at Xcel Center if they are in line at 9 a.m. and waiting for doors top open at 6 p.m.?
Will there be somewhere inside to wait all day or will we be 'out in the cold'?=)
Also, any feedback about how high or low the stage is...we want RAIL view at this show.
Thanks!!

Every time I've gone we had to stand outside until the doors open.

when you are in the floor seats do you bave to be in that exact spot they put you in
Written 19 July 2019
You are supposed to be, yes. Note that at floor level most people end up standing and dancing in place at concerts so it can be difficult to see the stage because of taller people and if it’s country music - hats are worn blocking vision. I prefer the right or left balcony or raised levels close to the stage and don’t like floor level.

For a concert which is better section 116 row 4 or section 102 row 3?
Written 7 September 2018
It ultimately depends upon how the band/performer sets up their stage. We went to the Arcade Fire concert and they played facing in all four directions, changing between song sets. Depends upon what you want to be near and a bit of luck.

For the Justin Timberlake concert, would you recommend standing room only floor seats or club level seats??
Written 29 August 2018
Club level would be great but if you're looking to save ton the tickets, standing room. Wouldn't be bad either...
