This museum tells the story of old New Ulm! From the Dakota Uprising to Wanda Gag to New Ulm in the two World Wars. Small gift and bookstore. Fantastic research library to research your Bohemian ancestors. Don’t miss the historic popcorn wagon out front!

We stopped to learn a little about the local history and were not disappointed. Our favorite was the 3rd floor which focused on the Dakota war. We spent almost 2 hours here, lots of reading involved with this museum.

My wife is doing family genealogical research and Darla, at the Brown County Historical Society, was very helpful. She found records pertaining to our ancestors and provided additional background for us. The Society has interesting historical exhibits in their museum, and the staff are friendly.
