Most City Halls can be nondescript but Minneapolis's stands out amongst the new & old buildings with its weathered copper plate roofing reminiscent of Quebec & Ottawa but I suppose they are near neighbours really ? Great use of polished timbers and a beautiful building in Downtown.

You get a sense of the old Minneapolis here. There's something about Minnesota in general that is authentic America. Nothing pretentious, it is what it is. Pure middle America with pride in the USA

A very good example of an old public building. Inside is a warren of offices with.wood trim in abundance. A large beautiful statue of Neptune is in the lobby.

I came here on our last day in Minneapolis. City Hall was a few blocks from our hotel and I only wish I had spent more time exploring this building.

I had to visit the police records department this morning. I entered the building from the 5th Street side and declared to the records clerk what a lovely building it is. Well, she directed me to the rotunda on the 4th street side. Wow. Wow. Wow. Spectacular five story atrium with a glorious statue of the Father of the Waters.... More

I love the old architecture in the building from the clock tower to the basement tunnels that connect the skyway. The red granite make the building unique. The inside granite steps show the wear of millions of steps taken. The old offices and doors were built to last for generations. It is an amazing building to walk around in.

The Richardsonian Romanesque exterior architecture is nice contrast to the concrete and glass structures in the surrounding area. The size and style of City Hall reflect the ambitions of a young Minneapolis in the late 19th century. Main interior lobby is amazing and worth checking out. The building contains the office of the mayor, city council, and some city services.... More

I love this building! Sit in the common area at the Government Center and watch the Perigrine Falcons!
