I recommend a trip to Lake Calhoun, Lake Harriet, Cedar Lake and Lake of the Isles or the nearby Minnehaha Falls before seeing Lake Nokomis, but it is still nice if you have time. You can access the Mall of America from the nearby Highway...More

Enjoyed the views and people watching in a recent run around the lake. Signage between bikes and pedestrians is a bit overly done and non-nonsensical, but overall it was great.

I may be biased because I live on the west side of this lake, but in my opinion, it is the best of the Mpls city lakes. It is not as crowded as some of the others, has 2 great beaches, playgrounds, walking path, biking...More

Beautiful Lake, parking usually isn't too bad and people tend to be really nice if you are jogging past them. They do have Kayaks, and Kanoes for rent. The beach area looks clean and usually a decent amount of people enjoying it. You as well...More

I worked as a lifeguard at this lake in the 90’s and came into Minneapolis for a visit. During the visit I wanted to run the lakes and kids wanted a swim. Lake Nokomis was my second choice compared to Lake Harriet; however, I had...More

This week I bike aroun Lake Nokomis twice, swam 200 meters, and ran the paths. It’s beautiful, clean, family friendly. There many people grilling. Also the l8neup to order at the restaurant was constant, indicating very good food on their patio. There was music on...More

We took our kayaks out on Father's Day. The water was choppy from the wind, but it was still fun. Plenty of kayakers and sail gliders on the water, but no one ran into each other. We could hear the kids laughing and playing at...More
