This is my favorite venue in Minneapolis for a concert. The sound is always great and there's not a bad seat in the place. It's also connected to the skyway. So on a cold, winter day you don't have to venture outside.

The State is a beautifully remodeled old theater. You need to go to a show just to see the incredible ornate furnishings. We went here to see Loreena McKennit on October 19, 2016. We had seating in a lower part of the balcony that has a row of seating with two seats together with a table. We had a terrific,... More

State Theatre was rehabbed quite a few years ago but still looks wonderful. In my opinion, this is the grandest of all the theaters in Minneapolis/St. Paul. Acoustics are wonderful and staff super friendly. If you're just visiting, you should check this out if time. Located in Minneapolis downtown, there are plenty of restaurants nearby as well.

We saw Patti Labelle at this theatre. The was beautiful. The theatre seems to have nice visual from every seat, but I could not see the stage when the audience would stand up (which they did quite often for Ms. Labelle). There are some nice side box seats on the second level which are close to the stage and I... More

We went to the Warren Miller film at the State Theatre and had a great time. Getting through security was quick and painless. Fun event for the whole family.

We went to the State Theatre to see Lyle Lovett. This is a beautiful, historic theater. Any seat provides a great bore of the stage. Sound was great. Seating is a little tight, but that's to be expected in a venue this old.

Went to see Prairie Home Companion performance. An old, but classy venue, seats are tighter than coach on an airline, but good views from most all of them. Forget about the bathrooms at intermission but that is common in older theaters. Plenty of bars and restaurants all around and only a couple blocks from a metro stop

I've been to many concerts at this theater, and it's holding up well. I would recommend some remodeling with more efficient restrooms and wider seats, but other than that, the decor is stunning and sound excellent. We saw Harry Connick Jr. there -- ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!

We just saw Harry Connick Jr. last night and it was a wonderful show. I don't think there's a bad seat in the entire theater. It's a fairly small theater which allows for a more intimate show in my opinion. Although the seats are a bit small and you are quite cozy, they work. The only gripe I have is... More
