For my money, this is the best place to see a concert in the Twin Cities. You obviously won't be seeing a huge star at this venue, but they have a steady menu of fantastic music acts from an array of musical genres. The history...More

Came this weekend for a concert. It was a great venue to hear music. Small and intimate, great sound. There's a small bar with, at least this weekend, one bartender. Line was a little long but moved pretty fast.

I was at a show and was dragged out due to no fault of my own. I was next to the mosh pit and was blamed to be to intoxicated but in turn only had 1 beer. I would have had 2 if the bouncer...More

This is a must see location where the movie, "Purple Rain" was filmed. The stars who have played there are listed on the outside walls. Prince is the only one with a gold star. There is plenty of parking lots nearby.

Went here recently and saw Aesop Rock. Place is still amazing!! The show was visually fantastic and the sound is perfect! Go to the second floor to get a drink faster and make sure to get a pic with Prince's gold star. Buy early, lots...More

For my wife. Had a chance to see the Purple Rain locale, while checking out the other legendary names to have performed here. She got her Prince fix, I got my Ramones!

I've been there twice now for shows. It can be very overcrowded and impossible to move, even to get to the bathrooms can take up words of 15 minutes. Security ignored and walked past safety concerns (people milling on stairways) multiple times. The sound system...More

Take a moment to pass by the club featured in Purple Rain. Think about the times Prince performed there and made the film that helped make him a legend. The place is easy to find and is still operating, so it might be worth catching...More

It was great to visit this iconic club in the heart of Minneapolis. I was in town for the celebration 2017 event in April this year. I took an obligatory picture outside by the wall of stars as a souvenir and headed inside to appreciate...More

I believe they are only open during shows/events. The wall of stars is on the outside of the building though so it’s still worth stopping by!

First Avenue is mainly a standing room only venue. There are tables and chairs on the second floor that are reserved seats but they are very limited. The main floor consists of a large area where people stand to watch the... More
