Lake Calhoun is a large lake with great facilities: kayak, canoe, and paddle board rentals, beaches, marinas, trails, and a cantina. Walk, sail, jog, swim, or just sit and relax. A canal connects with Lake of the Isles at the top of the lake. From...More

The lake has been renamed back to its Native American name so don’t let that confuse you. We went sailing with a friend last night on the lake. It was such a great experience. There is a sailing club on the lake where you can...More

We rented kayaks at Lake Calhoun on a Tuesday afternoon. It's a popular place, so there is a bit of a line - mostly SUPs. We've rented several times in the past and found the kayaks relatively clean and well-maintained. NOT THIS time! One kayak...More

This lake is gorgeous and offers many water activities and rentals. Given its size, it has lots of different types of areas, from busy beaches to quiet reading spots. Everyone can find a way to enjoy it their own way.

Gorgeous lake! It's about 3.09 miles around, so it's perfect for running or walking. The breeze off the lake is incredible. Do not miss this when in Minneapolis!

I believe there are kayaks at Lake Calhoun. You can check the Minneapolis Park aboard site for the fee structure but I recall seeing them there.
