Took a 10 minute drive from my hotel downtown to this wonderful group of small lakes. I envy the locals having this hike/bike/canoe and sailing area so close to everything.

A must see/use when in the Twin Cities. Be it in a car, a canoe, a sailboat - or by running, walking, rollerblading, snow shoeing, or ice skating...great locale for people watching, nature, and architecture - and a very convivial and genteel way to get...More

Walking, jogging, roller blading, biking, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, fishing..... choose your pleasure. Parking is a bit limited, but this is one of the gathering places to relax, workout, and just enjoy a beautiful day outside.

What a gem of a park system, or necklace for the city, if you like. I spent summers here lifegaurding, rollerblading, canoeing, running...And in winter skiing, snowshoeing and cycling. Each lake has it's own character. Don't forget concerts at Lake Harriet bandstand.

The Minneapolis Parks Board does an excellent job keeping the lakes and their surrounding parks in top shape. Bike, canoe, kayak, paddle board, rollerblade, volleyball, swim, eat at great food spots. Beautiful sights around all of the lakes.

We chose this destination for 2 hours of relaxation on our trip to Minneapolis. This was a wonderful choice. The lake is well kept and beautiful in its own merit. The location has allowed many amazing homes to surround it as an added visual benefit.
