Its history is far too extensive to list here, but suffice to say that it's quite fascinating and is lived-in today. Originally a Tudor fort which became an elegant country house amid charming gardens. Recreated rooms and fresh interpretation highlight its famous residents and visitors,...More

Really interesting place to visit, good commentary provided via headset of years of history and heritage. Well preserved exhibits. Great view from balconies / terrace of beach. Lovely gardens to walk around in full flower when we visited so saw them at their best.

Visited on Saturday. Lots of history bought to life by the guides. One guide in particular, Diane, was simply outstanding. Informative and amusing at the same time. So much history that can be explored by adult and child alike. Well worth a visit

A very lovely place to visit. It was a wet muddy day but a visit to the gardens was really nice. Cafe staff were very pleasant and friendly.

We paid full price admission (£11) to enter. The lantern festival was so disappointing and there were no more than half a dozen trees lit by coloured light and you just walked along path that had been lit with battery operated lights. We spent no...More

We are frequent visitors to Walmer Castle, the grounds and gardens never disappoint and it is for this reason that we gave three points. On the merits of the lantern festival alone I would have resented leaving even the one point review. Quite simply the...More
