While on a road trip to South Dakota, we planned for a quick overnight in the campground. We rolled in at dusk, about 20 minutes ahead of a massive storm system. Thankfully, we passed a park ranger on her way out for the evening. We...More

The waterfall in one part of the park is such a surprise, and the hunt for the bison herd in the other area is always fun. The bison prairie can be driven through, and often the herd is near the road.

Our first trip to Minneopa State Park. My husband was photographing waterfalls. The Minneopa Falls was very nice. A short hike took you right to the falls. Not very busy on a Tuesday morning.

The two parts of the park are each wonderful for their own reasons. The bison tour is always interesting and seeing the native habitat is beautiful. The falls are great to experience and provide good hiking.
