About
Elia Beach is a popular spot in south Mykonos, loved by LGBTQIA+ sunbathers, families, and locals alike. With crystal clear waters and a peaceful atmosphere, it's the perfect place to unwind. Clothes are optional at the westernmost section, but there’s plenty of room on the sand if you want to keep yours on. Rent a lounge chair and sip on a refreshing drink as you take in the stunning Greek coast. When hungry, head to one of the waterfront restaurants for some delicious local cuisine. You can hop on a bus from the Old Port to get here—check the bus schedule in advance as they only operate during certain months. – Tripadvisor

- Panagiotis Lymperopoulos PhotographyAthens, Greece262 contributionsElia Beach: A Coastal Playground of Sun, Sea, and AdventureTucked away on Mykonos' southern shore, Elia Beach is a vibrant blend of action and leisure, offering a thrilling selection of water sports activities in addition to immaculate sands. Elia Beach, which stretches elegantly down the shore, provides a large water play area for swimmers. There are plenty of water sports to partake in, ranging from heart-pounding jet skiing to the thrilling rush of slalom skiing. Families and groups of friends can enjoy laughter and excitement on banana boat rides, while parasailing provides an aerial view of the breathtaking coastline. It was a great experience, and I had the opportunity to create amazing photo shoot sessions for my clients. Its one of the biggest and longest beaches on Mykonos Island. It's very friendly for all ages. Its really worth a small visit from everyone.Visited August 2023Travelled on businessWritten 4 March 2024
- travelangel123Guildford, United Kingdom134 contributionsBeautiful crystal clear waterElia Beach, just moments from our hotel and just what we needed for a much needed break away for a few days. 50 euros for 2 comfortable loungers and table and umbrella - we had the same beds each day as the guys kept them free for us and we were waited on very attentively. The restaurant on the beach which is part of the Elia Mykonos Hotel was fabulous. They had a beach menu or you could go eat on their terrace. Great facilities including on the beach showers. The water was so pretty and clear (so cold though) and the beach was kept immaculately clean.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 31 May 2024
- rob sFareham, United Kingdom6 contributionsElia beach resort restaurantI'm reviewing the restaurant, at Elia beach resort, What a fantastic place! The staff are very friendly and very helpful and knowledgeable, and the food!!! Well that was just 1st class, excellent taste, portions and value for money, I visited this place 3 times and each time had a different meal, which were the best, on my last visit they accidently gave me the wrong bill, I didn't think anything of it until on leaving one of the staff ran after me to call me back, they couldn't apologise more, and corrected my bill it was only 20euro's but they were so sorry, this made my day to know that you won't get ripped off, Anthony, was the main man and he was on the ball with a friendly service, and a great knowledge and live for his work, I would definitely recommend you try this placeVisited June 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 18 June 2024
- Blake & EddieAtlanta, Georgia114 contributionsFair warning that the gay beach is all nudeThe beach here was very pretty. The water was still very cold in May. There were chairs to rent, watersports for purchase and a restaurant nearby. The only negative thing is that the gay beach was all nude! We were told that the nudist part was beyond a rock wall in a secluded cove, but when we arrived to the gay side of the beach everyone was naked. We just wanted to give others the fair warning. No problem if that’s your thing, but the nude sunbathers should be in the nudist specific area.Visited May 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 11 July 2024

We found that the best area was at the far end which was the gay section. It was.much quieter and the water was beautiful with no rocks. Sunbeds were 60 euros for 2 beds and a brolly. Most of them need a damn good clean and the brollys need some serious repair. Food and drink is served to you and the quality is pretty good for beach food. There are restaurants close by if you don't want to eat on your sunbed. Lots of watersports available There are no shops in the resort but there is a bus you can take to shops outside the resort. You can't walk to the shops. A day at the beach is expensive so make sure you factor that in. Sun loungers range from €70-€60 further from the water. Well worth a visit if looking for a nice, relaxed beach day.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 4 August 2024
- Phil DLondon, United Kingdom147 contributionsBeautiful beach but expensive sunbedsThe beach is beautiful and the water is so clear. Little fish swim up to you if you stand still. The downside is that the sunbeds and umbrellas are €50 to €70 no matter how long you stay. We were on a tour and sat in the 4th row, so it was €50. Bit of a rip-off if I am honest.Visited August 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 25 August 2024

The beach was beautiful the water was clear and perfect to swim in. We got two lounge chairs with umbrella and small table for €50. We ordered food and drinks right from our chairs, perfect. Club sandwich and fries was delicious €15. Perfect day. Lots of water sorts there we did t try them.Visited September 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 6 September 2024

There is no music and there are couple of nice restaurants by the beach. We enjoyed the day swimming and lounging, however would recommend to skip this beach if u have less days or want to explore other things.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 10 September 2024

The beach is accessible via a small, curving road. For those staying near Mykonos Town, it’s not far by Taxi, but elsewhere on the island will require some degree of driving. Best bet is renting a car and there’s decent parking at the beach as Elia is connected to The Beach, a resort on the edge of the ocean.
The water is crystal clear blue with some rocks and white sands. No shells and not much wildlife, so its a perfect beach for playing in the water and lounging on the sand. We went in May, during its least crowded part of the season and the weather is hot, dry and has a nice breeze. The water is cold, but once in, has tropical currents that bring warm patches and is incredibly refreshing, even for an old guy like me.
The beach chairs are all for rent and provide a place to store your beach gear, lounge and order food and drinks. We were closest to The Beach Resort, and they have a full bar and lots of food options that were delicious. The Gyro plates - somewhat different than what we think of in the US - were incredible. The meat was tender and so flavorful.
Beach chairs are about $50-60 Euro for the pair for the day. After May, reserve the day before, if possible.

Always our favourite beach in Mykonos. This year we hired quad bikes to take us from the town to the beach rather than taking the often crowded bus. There’s plenty of space for parking close to the beach.
Compared to Paradise or Super Paradise, the beach is laid back and peaceful with a long stretch of sandy beach and hundreds of lounges, a restaurant and water sports (jet skis etc) available.
There’s a designated section for LGBTQ+ tourists which is clearly marked by flags and which is clothing optional.
Loungers and parasol are €30 each and there is friendly table service for food and drinks. It’s a blissful way to while away a few hours and we can’t wait to return next year!!
Thanks for keeping up the high standards guys!!

We were told good things about this beach, but we found it to be overcrowded overpriced and not as good as other beaches on the island.
The sun beds were 50 euros and not very comfy, the umbrellas were the small type that don’t give much shade.
Because the beach is quite long, there is less shelter and more of a current so not ideal if you ha e young kids.

Elia is my favourite beach in Mykonos! It combines all types of beaches one can get in Mykonos. Some parts are covered by sunbeds and umbrellas and other parts are free from sunbeds, where one can lay down and enjoy the beautiful golden sand! The water is amazing, clear and in light blue colour, and the way this beach is positioned, does not allow big waves to reach the shore.
There's even a nudist part, on the right side of this very long beach. The LGBT flag is placed on the right side of the beach as well, to make everyone feel comfortable and welcome.
There is a restaurant on the left side of the beach, but if you get a sunbed, you can order whatever you need from the waiters who serve you on the beach.
There are other parts of this beach where there is music, and others where it is quiet. There is a huge parking space on the beach for your cars.
So this is a beach for every taste, just take a pick of the spot that serves you best!

We came for the day by bus from Mykonos Town which was very cheap to do. Because of the pandemic schedules were more limited. The journey was only about 20 minutes and cost 4.60 Euros return per person.
The beach is long but it's organised which means it's covered with expensive sunbed sets!! Something like 50-75 Euros which is crazy. We had our towels with us and so found a sandy spot for the day. It was super hot and so wasn't the most comfortable as there just isn't really any shade. The beach is nice and the water is lovely and clear but we were disappointed that there were hardly any spaces for those not wanting to pay extortionate costs for sun loungers (I know Tinos is different to Mykonos but the charge there was 5 Euros!). The nudist section is at the far right hand side of the beach. Lots of water sports including the powerful water jet boots which propel you into the air.
There is nothing here other than the beach and the one beach bar and so if you're getting the bus keep this in mind.
We had a nice lunch at the beach bar which was surprisingly reasonably priced. We also had drinks there before the bus home. Staff nice and food good.

This is insane. 35 euros a person for chairs??!! They have lost their minds. It is a pretty spot but the water is freezing. It’s extremely windy and we keep getting pelted by sand. The whole beach is full of overpriced chairs and if you want to just lay on a towel you have to to go on the very back of the beach. I don’t know why people come here. I certainly won’t be doing it again.

Wonderful relaxing beach not far from the city with a car as nothing is far in Mykonos really. 40 euros for the sun beds set, the waters are crystal clear and the beach is long with the big horizon all free! The day we went it had no music I am not sure if they play music normally but loved the peace of it!
It does Have a restaurant if you want to eat, we didn’t so I cannot comment on food! Beach Service was good. Get a towel with you as they charge an extra 10 euros to give you one !

Elia is without a doubt our favourite beach in Mykonos. The beds are reasonably priced, all things considered (25€ per bed for the day) - it is Mykonos, after all. The staff are friendly and attentive, and tried in vain to teach more more Greek. The food and cocktails are reasonably priced and delicious. Unlike some of the other beaches in Mykonos, Elia has a very natural feel to it. Accomplished swimmers can also swim round to Agari beach via 'The Cove' (not for the faint-hearted). The whole place was a great chilled vibe - perfect for people looking to relax and unwind and maybe top up their tan.

Tourist trap beach and restaurant. 70 euros for 2 loungers and an umbrella for the 3 hours we would be there. Restaurant is very expensive and if you want to sit in the lounge area in the shade you have to order something. Beach is rocky and extremely windy.

Just found out that our cruise will coincide with Xlsior festival, are the beaches going to be restricted in access?
Written 28 July 2019
I don’t think they will restrict the access to all beaches on the island. There are more than 20 beaches, so you will always have some of them accessible. They are all very nice-crystal clean water and golden sand. It is really truth. It is not advertising. Wish you a pleasant stay.
