This is a fantastic trail - well maintained and just gorgeous. The scenery varies as you go along so it is never boring. We could have biked all day there!

Over three days we saw people canoeing, kayaking, floating on big intertubes, bicycling along, playing golf over (and sometimes, like yours truly, hitting a golf ball into it via a poorly performed golf shot), eating, walking along and in general, enjoying the river immensely. There...More

We kayaked and it was beautiful! We saw an eagle and another very large bird, turtles, fish and ducks. Their were many small rapids throughout our trip which made it fun

The Root River is worth the trip. I have kayaked the river several times and you always see something different. The trout fishing is very good for Minnesota. It can get shallow during the summer if we do not get much rain.

I didn't have the best weather on my trip to either ride bikes or canoe, but plan to when I go back sometime.

Well maintained bike trail meanders along the Root River. It goes through several small towns providing an opportunity to rest, wander around or grab a bite to eat.

The trails along the Root river are where the railroad used to run. There is beautiful scenery along the paved paths. Bicycles can be rented if you don't bring your own.
