It is Midwest skiing and yes it is not the mountains but in terms of options for the Midwest it is the best ski resort within an hour of the twin cities.

This was our first time skiing... (well at least for myself and my two children). The people at Afton Alps were pleasant (in the ticketing area). I do not know what an average price to ski was but I thought it was kind of pricey for a family of four. If you join the Preferred Program Perks, you will be... More

This is a great place with terrain for every level of skiing skills. Was recently purchased by Vail Resorts and they did tons of upgrades to the property. Most noticeable are the new snow making machines which make much better snow. Also, the machines are whisper quite compared to the old ones. Food is high school café stye: Pizza, Burgers,... More

This is not the best place to ski in MW but has been purchased by Vail and is apart of the Epic pass. The main area around Hastings, Woodbury-St.Paul, is not bad and offers quite a few breweries to enjoy apres ski. The conditions were a bit icy which is out of anyone's control. I went over Christmas break and... More

This was our first time skiing at this establishment with our kids. We have been to other resorts but this place was extremely organized, very streamlined and clean! We loved it. The process was so organized as you moved from one station to another. The staff were super friendly which was a huge bonus. When working with your kids to... More

We signed our grandkids up for a 1/2 day lesson to give them a good start. The instructors were great and both girls had a good time while learning the basics. After the lesson, we spent a couple of hours on the beginner hills. We had a ball skiing with the kids. The staff on the lifts were fantastic, encouraging... More

Great place for people of different skiing abilities since there are many hills to pick from. The main chalet is a bit old and the food selection is the traditional burgers and pizza geared towards teens. If you want to eat on the healthier side, you can take your own food.

Early season skiing. Full ticket price for less than half the runs open. Runs that were open we're in good shape.

I wasn't able to go skiing, but I was able to see the lifts and talk to the local staff on this local jewel located very close to theTwin cities. The grounds are part of a golf course that are quite lush and scenic.

We went skiing at Afton yesterday, a busy Saturday in February. The sun was out and crowds were beginning to build. The snow had been groomed and was in great condition in the morning, even in the Highlands (which melts first). Hill 7 (black diamond) was open and the lift was running, which we were very happy about. Lift operator... More
