Two beaches, softball fields, tennis courts, basketball, picnic tables, Tommy's Trolley for ice cream and kayak rentals. Parking is not free - metered street parking only, but you can park for free in the lots downtown if you're willing to walk a couple of blocks.

The Excelsior Commons is well-known for its summer concerts, fairs, and 4th of July celebration with fireworks and orchestra. This winter, it became the site of Ice Castles, a huge ice sculpture that covers several acres. With multicolored LED lights deep inside the ice, the castle maze is a beautiful site at night. A must visit. After you can go to any local restaurant/bar. I highly recommend the Suburban. Best burgers in the Minneapolis area.
