Great wooded sites, quiet park, nice clean bathrooms - all good stuff. Geocaching was really fun. No designated bike trails but still lots of places to ride around.

This park has great views and access to the lake available everywhere. There are row boats available to rent and trolling motors too- which we would recommend as it is a big lake. You can also rent paddle boards and kayaks. Most of the park...More

The trail center is a nice place to warm up in when you're riding snowmobile on the Taconite trail. It has a soap stone fireplace where a fire is always burning and big comfy chairs.

Huge lake, only paddled the bay at the state park, nice and calm. Even caught a few fish not trying very hard. Canoes and kayaks available at the boat ramp. Nice campgrounds.

Great hiking and paddling. Easy access to the trails and the water. The leaves were changing so it was breathtaking.

Bearhead Lake is a beautiful place to kayak or canoe. They have both for rent. The campsites are a good size, with plenty of room between them.

Yes, dogs on leashes were everywhere when we were there; however, pets are not permitted in the cabins. So if you are staying in a camper cabin, your pet would need to sleep in your vehicle.
