Set in the bluffs overlooking the north shore of Lake Superior, this scenic overlook is best known as THE spot to watch birds flying south on their autumnal migration. Every day during this time there are bird-spotters hunkered down here to count the birds: raptors,...More

This was not bad. It had interesting facts and places to roam around. Kids did not find it to be that great

This is the site of the migration of thousands of birds each fall. It is a truly remarkable place to experience the fascinating world of birds and humans, and there is to learn. And you can't beat the beauty of the site.

I was there during the fall migration and we saw hundreds of Broad-winged Hawks, as well as Bald Eagles, Sharp-shinned Hawks, Osprey, American Kestrels, Red-tailed Hawks, and a Merlin and a Peregrine Falcon.

We hiked for several hours through the woods at Hawk Ridge. I enjoyed the trails and relative isolation. The views of the lake over Duluth are fantastic, and if you only stop for that, it's worth the visit. However, delving into the north woods trails...More

I guess we hit a great morning, saw scores of sharp shinned hawks as well as eagles, broad wing hawks and turkey vultures. Very cool scene and view point.

The right time of year you can see plenty of hawks and neat informative presentations. The "wrong" time of you can hike, bike or just have some amazing views of the surrounding area. Still amazing.

Went birding on a Tuesday in July. Pretty good bird activity early until around 10. One concern was that some of the trails were very overgrown. When I got home I was soaked and had 5 ticks.
