Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Of course Covid-19, and the reasonable precautions needed to slow its spread, have obviated some of the services, the facility is still open, still doing its job, and still providing some fantastic birds-eye-views of the Duluth, MN and Superior, WI area. They also still have packets full of local travel information for visitors. Great facility.

This is a must visit destination at Duluth. You can get a magnificient view of the surrounding areas, St Louise river and lake Superior. Make sure you check the weather on apps like climacell and WOW before you visit, since foggy days are not ideal. You can get a lot of free information. However, there might be some restrictions due to Covid

As our first foray into Duluth, my wife looked for visitor centers. The downtown main visitor center is closed on Sunday which actually turned out to be a good thing. Down the way, there is a wonderful stop just next to I-35. It’s all torn up as they renovate the area, so I didn’t have much hope (oh ye of little faith). It was actually great. First, there's an amazing view of Lake Superior. And there are lots of materials. And best of all, we chatted with Jeff the attendant for quite a while. After exploring our trip, he wanted to go with us on our journey. Good stop.

We have stopped here for the past few decades mostly every summer on our way to Isle Royale. It is a good place to freshen up, use the restroom, and have a light lunch, before heading further north. It is always clean, and someone to give our tourist information. The tourist desk is always well stocked with useful booklets about area attractions, etc.

We stopped in on a very cold day and the guy at the information desk was very helpful. He gave us more precise locations of some of the places we saw on Trip Advisor but we're having trouble finding. The place was very clean and the view overlooking Duluth is great. If you want brochures or more information on many of the North Shore things to do, you should stop in. We go to Duluth quite often and still find it very helpful

This is a beautiful overlook to Duluth, Superior and Spirit Valley. There is a model in the center that tells you what all of the landmarks are. Many brochures for local and extended area attractions.

Thompson Hill Information Center is located just off of I-35. Take the 1st exit ramp that you see when driving in to Duluth from the south end of town. (Boundary Avenue Exit) Go left at the top of the ramp, cross over the freeway, then take your 1st right.
The Center is situated on a hilltop that overlooks the harbors of Duluth-don't forget your camera for some spectacular pictures!
The rest area has a very large parking lot and can easily accommodate many RV's and over-the-road semi trucks.
The grounds are well maintained. The rest stop is conveniently located close to McDonald's and
Subway. It's a nice place to enjoy your lunch. It is set up with several benches and picnic tables. Yes, there is also an exercise area for "Fido".
Inside, you will find a Guest Services desk, along with maps and brochures on what to see and do during your stay in Duluth. There are large, clean restrooms and a vending machine with snacks.
A great place to stretch your legs on a road trip and introduce yourself to all that is great about the City of Duluth!

I have made many trips over the years from Iowa to Duluth, and Thompson Hill is always a must-stop. Great place for scenic views, a stretch, clean restroom, and load up on information on current happenings in Duluth and area. That first real good view of "the Lake" is almost an emotional experience!

Especially on clear day. What a view. As good as any in New England without the salt air. We looked all over the Twin Cities for Minnesota Twins Schedules but we found them here. Lots of info about almost anything in the area. Knowledgeable people to help too.

Stopped at this rest stop and was surprised by the amazing views of the Duluth Bay! Make sure you visit the opposite side of the facility to see the best views! Great place to picnic, if the weather cooperates! There is a dog area .
