Watch seagulls soaring while you stroll around this popular spot, part of the revived Duluth waterfront. Nearby are a sculpture garden, jazz clubs, coffee shops, motels and restaurants. If you like ships, stand on the pier and watch huge boats and ships, some from around the world, come and go daily.

Great area to just sit and watch the waves, or watch ships entering and leaving the harbor. Since the canal is relatively narrow, one gets a great, up close view of the ships coming and going. Easy path for walking.

Always the gulls squawking, the boats tooting and lift bridge answering, happy children chasing around - canal park is an unique and special place. Must pay for parking.

Of course we stayed at a hotel in Canal Park so we could walk everywhere! Great bars, restaurants, shopping, and tours.

It is still late summer and it was a really cold and wet walk. Many things to see, but weather limited our visit.

Very nice area to tour with lots of shops and restaurants. Nice area along the lake to just wall around and take in the sites. Would recommend for anyone looking for an area that has a variety of things to see or places to stop.

Had a little trouble finding a place to park, but the effort was well worth it. Easy to walk, you can also rent multi-seat bikes to cover even more area, or if you're traveling with small children or others that have difficulty walking. The view...More

If you want to park for free, park in the neighborhood just West of the down town. The walk down the hill to the canal Park area. There is plenty to see and do. I enjoyed the shops and walking.

I don't believe that Tall Ships Duluth is an event held every year, it seems that it is every 2-3 years on the Great Lakes. Duluth was 2013, and 2016.

As GoldenMom said, the Neptune statue is no longer there, but there are many statues on canal park. Most are located right along Canal Park Drive. One is the Fountain of the Wind, on the corner of Canal Park Drive and... More
