Take a walk along the boardwalk, then warm up and eat at Applebee's, or Red Lobster restaurant. There are many small local businesses that treat tourists like their Royalty, and appreciate being close to the Lady, our Lake Superior. Then spend the sunset/sunrise hours at the...More

Stand in awe as a giant barge go underneath the lift bridge. The barges are unbelievably huge. It's a beautiful place to hang out on a summer evening. Lots of things to do down by the bridge.

This is an icon on Lake Superior. It opens up the western end of the Greatest lake to the St. Louis estuary and the bay. Beautiful!

Was there in the middle of winter, did not get down so was not able to appreciate the bridge to the complete extent.

Canal Park and the bridge are amazing sites in the winter too! Ice on the lake, sun in the sky, sea smoke on the water, bundle up and enjoy. Plenty of great hotels and eateries are within easy walking distances-many terrific shops also.

So much fun to watch and lots of great places to see different views. Has restaurants all around so you can stop and eat and continue on watching the ships go through.

There are boat tours of the harbor and lake-we've taken the Vista Fleet tours and found them interesting. You can fish from shore along the lake or harbor. Brighton Beach at the north end of town is great for picnics... More
