The only aquarium in the U.S. that focuses on freshwater exhibits, this three-story waterfront structure is ready for public viewing after a year and a half and almost $34 million. Plenty of interactive exhibits and re-created habitats are fun and educational for children.

We are outdoors / nature folks so this is the place for us! Educational. Don't expect the coral reef tanks at MN Zoo or MOA. There are a few gorgeous ocean tanks but that is a side show. It's more focused on lakes & rivers...More

We brought 6 and 8 year old granddaughters here. They had a great time but the 8 year old definitely enjoyed it more since she reads well. They loved the river otter exhibit and program, and got to feed the trout. They both said it...More

When this first opened I thought it would have been a salt water aquarium but to my dismay it is freshwater and geared as an aquarium filled with the same fish you see in Lake Superior. Kind of lame in my book, esp for how...More

We enjoyed our visit here. My family has visited some of the best aquariums in the country, and this one was okay. The Locs exhibit is really neat, and my son really enjoyed the sturgeon touch tank.

I liked the interactive parts like petting the sturgeon. The otters are super cute, but the otter "show" is more of a lecture. Still interesting though. Parking was a little confusing because they were hosting a wedding.
