The only aquarium in the U.S. that focuses on freshwater exhibits, this three-story waterfront structure is ready for public viewing after a year and a half and almost $34 million. Plenty of interactive exhibits and re-created habitats are fun and educational for children.

this beautiful aquarium right on the water front is great for all members of the family, as there are interactive activities and lots to read, larn and do. The Art Gallery was a highlight for me with its exhibition of Beachglass by a local artist.

My kids enjoyed the aquarium. We were there for about 3 hours. The staff was kind, and the kids liked the feeding of the sharks, otters, and salmon. We would go back again in the future, and I recommend going for an afternoon.

Mostly native fish here. We enjoyed seeing the sea horse displays, as well as non-native fish. We saw a presentation on otters the last time we visited. The best part for the kids was the Great Lakes water play area with boats and canals for hands-on play. They got wet, but we didn't mind. They spent lots of time here.... More

We loved it. It was clean and so much to learn about. The divers feed the fish while we were there. That was really cool and they made it funny too. The gift shop was nice also. So many things to do and learn.

My husband, daughter, son in law and almost 4 year old visited the aquarium on Wednesday April 5. It is expensive for what they offer. The best part was playing with the otters, and learn about weather in the Great Lakes.

The place is amazingly clean. The staff have huge smiles on their faces and you can tell they love their job. Tons of things for any age. The attention to detail and care the animals receive is perfect.

Nicely laid out, good exhibits, interesting history. Most aquariums are mixed waters, but this one focuses on local waters...and with the boundary waters and Lake Superior right here it makes the exhibits interesting.
