Schoolcraft is a very rustic, small campground on the Mississippi River between Grand Rapids and Deer River MN. The sites are small but in nice grass areas. Bathrooms are rustic outhouse style but clean. The grounds are way out in the wilderness on a dirt...More

I visited Schoolcraft after reading the other reviews. I have 2 dogs that get dog aggressive when they see other dogs so I was looking forward to actually being able to bring them hiking with me. We had the place to ourselves and we had...More

We visiting the park an early spring and it was a little wet and saturated. The road into the park was good up until a sharp turn that proved to be pretty muddy and we almost got stuck. Something to keep in mind if you...More

This would be a great place for a large family reunion the campsites are very level however it didn't look like they had electric hookups. I took my dog for a walk here and some of the trails were blocked by downed trees as they...More

Lots of bugs but few people at this desolate, primitive campground. Not too many shade sites. Water is on-site. Bathrooms. Little else. There is a decent boat landing. Lots of trails for skiing in the winter and birding. No host or office is manned on...More

I came here for the Hiking club trail and I really liked the park. It had a certain charisma and charaecter to it that many other parks are lacking. I came on Sunday and saw no one else there. The park features the confluence of...More

Very nice little park, right on the Mississippi River. We were only one of four groups in the whole park. It has a nice boat landing. The camp sites were large enough to fit a small motor home. Nice hiking trails.
