This is a walk-through-the-woods, walk-through-history, please-touch park/museum.
Ten dollars gets you knowledgeable interpreters at each building who encourage questions and provide opportunities to touch Michigan history.
From the Native American wigwam to the Michigan farmhouse, each stop is a different era of history.
We went to check out the Heritage Landing Park as to appropriateness for our grandsons. It is extremely well done, while not being overwhelming. Children aged 7 and up will find the interactive aspects very involving and meaningful. The structures, furnishings and re-enactors provide a...More

Hi Sue - thank you for returning to the park for the Taste of History event and for your nice comments. Our interpreters love to share their knowledge with our visitors and work hard to make sure visitors have a great experience.
A small inexpensive history themed park, with lots of room for kids to run of excess energy and some interesting history to keep adults entertained. Go in the morning and take a picnic lunch then spend the afternoon at one of the local beaches.
I really didn't know what to expect when I went to the Park. I was just going to see some Indian artifacts associated with the Edward S Curtis exhibit in Muskegon. I was SUPER impressed! A lot if money has clearly gone into this site...More

We were staying in Montague and we needed an activity as we decided it was too hot for the amusement park which we had planned for the day. My husband came across the attraction in a local guidebook.
This is a fairly new attraction and...More
This historic park is located down N. Durham Rd. in an unlikely area outside of Whitehall, Michigan…go north from Colby Rd. (just east of 131), after turning at the hotel. I had no idea what a great find this place is: vsitors will learn about...More
I thought this might be a quick and cheesy tourist trap but to my astonishment, it was extremely worthwhile. Coming from the Detroit area, it reminded me of a mini-Greenfield Village, except BETTER. Very educational, hands-on, interesting and authentic. We have a teen boy and...More
