We adore the TART Trail! We ride Traverse City to Suttons Bay and back several times a year. It has a great combination of urban and backwoods! The volunteers that maintain the trail are incredible too!

Used it to connect to Lelanau Trail which we rode to Sutton's Bay. Well marked and in good condition.

Enjoyed rising multiple TART trails around the Traverse Area. Rode three different routes (Leelanau, Boardman, and Cross Town) which offered variety of terrain, scenic views, and good rides.

This is a trail that goes all around the Traverse City area. It has nice shorefront, lakefront, town, and wooded views. Good for walking on, with varied scenery.

We really liked the area between Traverse City and Sutton's Bay, but the area inside Traverse City was too far away from the water and didn't have any views.

All of these answers are spot on! The TART Trail and Leelanau Trail are very level with gentle slopes. There is a large slope on the TART Trail in Acme as it follows Bunker Hill Rd. to connect to the trail near Williamsburg... More
If we are coming into town next week setting aside a day (5-6 hrs) to ride our bikes on the trail, where would the best place be to park our cars and start on the trail? Maybe a section of the trail where there are sites to stop and take photos of along the way. Thanks.

The TART Trail runs through the heart of downtown Traverse City and along West Bay. This is the best stretch for pictures of the water. You can easily park anywhere downtown as parking rates are very affordable. You can also... More
