I stayed at a hotel in downtown Traverse City. I used this trail twice during two different stays. Both times I turned 'left' out of my hotel (along the bay/beach), ran 2 miles, then turned around and went back to the hotel. There is a...More

Rode from Harringtons by the Bay to Suttons Bay. The trail surface is one of the best I have ridden. The views were great, very relaxing. Easy gentle grades.

We rented bicycles and rode along this trail towards Suttons Bay. It is a great trail, well marked, smooth, no cars and lovely views along the shore and through the trees. Easier coming back as there is more downhill. great way to experience Traverse City.

This 17-mile (1-way) paved bikes/pedestrians-only trail from Traverse City (pick up the trail at Carter Street or pedal from anywhere in town) is awesome! Bike up to Sutton's Bay and reward yourself with a huge breakfast at the 45th Parallel Cafe immediately after the trail...More

I love to bike all areas of this trail, but frequently have to shout at oncoming bikers to move to their side. Be considerate and do not take up the whole trail - accidents will happen that don't need to!

Live just off the Leelanau Trail near Suttons Bay. Traveling from Suttons Bay to Traverse City and back is a nice easy ride with breathtaking views of vineyards, cherry and apple orchards. Some inclines, but nothing kids of all ages could handle.

All of these answers are spot on! The TART Trail and Leelanau Trail are very level with gentle slopes. There is a large slope on the TART Trail in Acme as it follows Bunker Hill Rd. to connect to the trail near Williamsburg... More

The TART Trail runs through the heart of downtown Traverse City and along West Bay. This is the best stretch for pictures of the water. You can easily park anywhere downtown as parking rates are very affordable. You can also... More
