Black Star Farms offers a six course Harvest Dinner. The staff selects a theme, this was cranberries. Each of the six courses included cranberries is some way, a garnish, a sauce, etc. Naturally there is a special wine paired with each course. The staff does an outstanding job of explaining each course and the wine associated with it. The duck... More

My first time here, first time wine tasting. They have very good wines, very good! Their farm is beautiful, very picturesque! The loss of the cheese was a little disappointing. The service of their pourers was a little cold. Informative yes. Friendly, not so much. True they were steady with the crowds but, not busy. I was a taken back... More

Winery and souvenir shop. Great place to visit as part of a tour or just on your own. Working vineyard and amazing views in picturesque northern Michigan.

I am so disappointed to have to say that the reception we received at Black Star Farms on Sutton's Bay was far less-than-acceptable. At no time during our visit did ANY STAFF MEMBER SMILE, or laugh or engage us in any way but negatively. The greeter's reception should've had us leaving right then but I insisted since I know their... More

This is my favorite vineyard to visit in Traverse City. The drive in is so beautiful with the vineyard on either side of the drive way. Then you get to the farm with a great tasting room. The wine is very good especially the cherry wine. Always a good stop on a wine tour.

Would love the opportunity to stay on the property. I hear it's pretty much all the wine you can drink :). Great tasting rooms and a distillery & restaurant on sight. Plus a mini petting farm.

Went here with a friend for a wine tasting. You pay $7 per person for the tasting of 5 wines chosen by you. You also get to keep the wine glass they give you with their "Black Star" logo on it. Gorgeous area to walk around and the staff is beyond friendly. I really enjoyed my visit here.

Black Star Farms includes a winery, Lodging, a cafe, a distillery and a large farm area. Our grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed petting the horses, goats and sheep. They also loved viewing the chicken and turkeys. BSF has conveniently placed a utility sink with hand soap outside for use when leaving.

Had a wonderful wine-tasting experience here, and we got to visit the stables and farm animals as an extra bonus! They give you a commemorative wine glass with a tasting, which I thought was a nice touch. Beautiful property.
