Everything has been perfect. From the tour of the Inn, our room and the beautiful grounds, to wonderful wines we enjoyed during the Happy Hour with other guests, and even the over the top breakfast (so much more than continental). We came up to just rest and relax. Black Star Inn is helping us refill and rejuvenate.

I been visiting Black Star farms for three years. (I live in the area). The wine is good and the grounds are very nice. Sadly the staff at the wine tasting are rude and a little stern. The wine tasting area is very busy during the summer. They raised their prices this year

Very friendly place that was able to answer any questions about their products. Definitely recommend the stop. They have a lot of great wine to choose from.

We were impressed with the grounds when we arrived but the good impressions stopped there. I told the guy doing the wine tasting pours I was familiar with West Coast wines and wanted something that represented Northern Michigan wines. He told me he didn't know because he just started working at the winery. We were asked to move twice because... More

Black Star Farms has a little bit of entertainment for the whole family. Tasting room, cafe, stables, and a large are to enjoy. We have stopped in the tasting room on the Old Mission Peninsula many times and thought it was past due to try the Suttons Bay Farm. Definitely worth the visit. We will be back with friends and... Nice atmosphere, good wine and reasonable prices. Staff friendly and knowledgeable about the place, process and wine they produce. Nice trails to walk or snowshoe on. A must visit.

Black Star Farms offers a six course Harvest Dinner. The staff selects a theme, this was cranberries. Each of the six courses included cranberries is some way, a garnish, a sauce, etc. Naturally there is a special wine paired with each course. The staff does an outstanding job of explaining each course and the wine associated with it. The duck... More

My first time here, first time wine tasting. They have very good wines, very good! Their farm is beautiful, very picturesque! The loss of the cheese was a little disappointing. The service of their pourers was a little cold. Informative yes. Friendly, not so much. True they were steady with the crowds but, not busy. I was a taken back... More

Winery and souvenir shop. Great place to visit as part of a tour or just on your own. Working vineyard and amazing views in picturesque northern Michigan.

I am so disappointed to have to say that the reception we received at Black Star Farms on Sutton's Bay was far less-than-acceptable. At no time during our visit did ANY STAFF MEMBER SMILE, or laugh or engage us in any way but negatively. The greeter's reception should've had us leaving right then but I insisted since I know their... More
