I've laid on the beaches in the Bahamas, the Florida Keys and Miami Beach. I've rode the bike trail of Venice Beach and walked and eaten along the Santa Monica Pier and laid on the beach in all those places. I am fund of them...More

We visited the South Beach for the Mermaid Megafest on Memorial Day weekend with our kids & grandkids. Everyone had a great time at the beach and on the lighthouse pier :)

While the Beach is spacious the parking is limited. We were the on July 6th thinking the holiday crowd would be gone... WRONG. We had to park 4-5 blocks away, Monroe Blvd. and Monroe St. (crazy coincidence) It is very popular for a reason. Beautify...More

This was my first time to see light houses. The ones in Michigan are awesome. Each one is unique within itself

We were making quick trips to area lighthouses as we drove up to the upper peninsula. This one was very pretty but I was particularly impressed with the beach. There was an area for children to play, a decent sized beach, and even actual flushing...More

Nice stroll to the lighthouse down the concrete pier. Watch your step though, the concrete can be hazardous due to wear from the elements. Relaxing though. Sunsets are amazing!!!!!

The pier extends over Lake Michigan to the lighthouse. You can walk on it or fish on it. The signs advise that it is at your own risk, but many people are willing to chance it. On a calm day, a beautiful walk, on a...More

Here's one of the classic Great Lakes lighthouses, welcoming all who come by water. The pier goes out a fair ways, and the boat watching is always a pleasure.

I love walking out to the lighthouse after having a nice meal downtown! It’s a great walk for morning afternoon and night! I love watching the boats come in and out of the river.

There are cottages and condos (check VRBO) within walking distance of the light, but I think hotels might be a short drive away. You can use the free parking in downtown South Haven and enjoy a walk past the Marina down to... More

When we went, we parked on a side street that had meters. However, we got there right about 5pm, when they stopped charging at the meters.

I am not aware that you can go in. There is a door but it is locked. I would assume no general public entrance. It is a VERY small lighthouse so there would not be a lot to see anyway.
