Fantastic Spring Hike

Seney is a great place for a drive or a bike (we've done both) and now it's on the top of our list for a spring day hike! The park is closed to vehicles until May 15 but we thought we'd try some hiking. Well, it was a rare almost 60 degree April 2nd day and we found ourselves hiking... More

The wildlife preserve is interesting and fun for the whole family. There is a 7 & 81/2 mile one-way loop you can drive. Do leave yourself enough time as you are only moving at 10-15 miles per hour. There are lots of birds, ducks, swans, turtles, flowers, Eagles and if your lucky a bear! The visitors center has binoculars if... More

Visited the refuge on a rainy day so we were unable to hike the 7 mile loop however we drove it instead. Saw swans, loons and beautiful scenery all along the way. I bet it would be gorgeous on a sunny day!

I would recommend this to even non-bird watchers. We took the longer drive through the park. Saw a lot of birds and pretty scenery too!

We really enjoyed the 7 mile loop drive around the refuge! Took us about an hour to drive around. Lots of birds, ducks, swans and keep your eyes open for some other animals as well. At the visitors center, they have a board that you can see what folks have seen in the area and you can add what you... More

This was a fun place to drive through and look at all the birds/ducks/wildlife in the area. There is a really nice gift shop with restrooms that were clean. There are also hiking trails if you want to hike through.

We've procrastinated this destination for years, but after such a great day we be returning soon. DON'T stay in the car! We hiked the 1.5 mile nature path then biked the 3.25 mile fishing loop. We saw sandhill cranes, trumpeter swans, blue jays, loons, Canadian geese, turtles, snakes, chipmunks, red squirrels, dragonflies and butterflies (all up close). Beautiful and very... More

If you love wildlife and beautiful scenery you must visit this refuge. It is one of my all time favorite places and you can drive your car through it so it's great for kids and the elderly as well as the disabled. Go slow and you'll see some beautiful birds and other animals.

We saw the sign for this wildlife refuge and decided to stop. It is a beautiful 7 mile drive on a one lane gravel road (with places to stop to enjoy the view). The speed limit is 15 miles per hour. There are a number of small lakes (they call them ponds) where geese, loons, swans, and ducks swim. There... More
