We took our friends to see the boats come though the locks and was having a great time. We walked around the park and saw just about everything there. The visitor's center is really something to see also They have a movie to watch about the locks.

The locks are nice, and a viewing platform is provided. I found only one entrance open along with plenty of security. Visible, not in the way by any means. Parking on the street is .$25/30 minutes and it is pull-in for the most part. There are some parallel free spaces on Ashton Street that are also close to restaurants and... More

Our 6 year old really enjoyed watching the big boats come in. It was also neat to learn about why it needs to do it. It's in a great location in town so there are little shops and restaurants in walking distance.

This is an engineering marvel that allows marine craft of all sizes to be lifted or lowered between the great lakes. Don't miss this. There are many great restaurants on the Michigan side to eat at and wait for a ship to come through

The Soo Locks is not only very important to shipping around the world, it is also a great and fun place to visit! I never miss the opportunity to visit the Locks when I'm there. Be sure to go into the Visitor Center, there are many fun facts about the ships and their routes.

We made the trip after lunch. Don't forget to mention you are a senior or veteran when purchasing tickets. The boats are clean with restroom and beverage and snack bar. The staff was pleasant and enjoyed answering questions. They will help with handicapped patrons. Our service dog was welcome. We had a great trip. This would be fun for all... More

We first stopped at the Soo to see the massive ships up close. We have been hooked ever since. We make an annual late summer trip. Ships can be viewed close enough to see and talk with member of the crew. There is a visitor center with interesting and informative displays and vidio presentations. Informed volunteers willing to answer questions... More

Love visiting any time I am in town. The locks are just such an amazing engineering feat! Even better if a freighter is coming through but still fun if not.

The Soo Locks was a very interesting experience if you love ships and life on the open water, which I do. When the ship we were watching was finished loading, and it was time to open the lock, the ship sounded it's horn, and it about blew my eardrums out of my head. Should have plugged them with my fingers.
