We have gone through the Panama Canal so we knew what to expect. These locks are smaller and, for me, the experience was even better. Take the ferry through the locks. See the museum. Spend some time on the viewing stand, preferably late in the...More

When you look at how the locks were built and when you can't help but be amazed. It is exciting to watch these huge ships travel from one side to the other, to see the water levels change .When you're standing in the viewing area,...More

Loved the Soo Locks. Spent 2 hours (they flew by) watching 4 different ships go through the Locks. It's amazing to watch the ships rise and fall with the water in the Locks! Will visit again.

I enjoyed the narration and the views, especially the view of the steel plant from the water. They take you through the big Soo Locks and a little one built for Ontario. That was cool! I would recommend it for adults, the kids may not...More

Over they years, I have been here numerous times and I will always come back. The viewing area is great. It gives you a chance to see the lake freighters up close.

We saw both a freighter and the tour boat go through the locks. It was fun to see the whole process. The lobby had the schedule of ships going through that day. There were plenty of facts and history to review.

Not necessarily. Channel traffic varies widely from nothing for hours to one every 30-40 minutes. Download "FindShip" for graphical update that shows time, location, and direction of ships in area.
