Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hands down the best thing to do in town, you get to speak directly with this master violin maker in his workshop, and have him explain everything from choosing the wood, to how to test a wood’s tone — including what note it plays — to how it is all put together. Really fascinating. His wife is a potter, and sells her wares at good prices. Really special.

Mr. Jan Nemcek is a master artisan, an experienced violin maker. In truth, he also makes violins of different sizes and other string instruments. a good part of his business is repairing or re-conditioning string instruments. During the visit, you will have a detailed explanation of the critical steps in making a superb violin: the choice of the wood, the age and type of wood, the drying, processing, shaping and carving different components of the instruments, and the association of the final sound of the violin with each of these steps. Mrs. Nemcek is an artist on her own right: she focuses on folk art, with ceramics, needlework, decorative items, etc. There is a small store within the house, where such objects can be purchased.
