To celebrate our engagement that morning, my fiance and I pre purchased tickets for Wild Zoo for 8 o'clock. We were five minutes away from the zoo sitting on the highway offramp waiting to turn into the zoo in a dead stopped line of traffic...More

I am guessing you are referring to the ticket purchase option. It allows you to go on or in several of the attractions that are available. It appears to not be explained on the website but if you go to the drop down menu for Visit and click on Attractions there are many things you can do at the Zoo for an additional cost. The Total Experience includes several of those thing but I can't say from memory which ones. I am 99% sure it includes the Railroad and the 4-D theater. I think it includes 2 more attractions. It is a very good deal but would definitely make for a longer visit at the Zoo. With a membership the price of the Total Experience is much lower, I think 12 dollars, which I think would make membership pay for itself on one visit.
