We thought we were just stopping by on our way to Newberry. HAHA 18 miles later on a seasonal logging road. What a drive. If the road is crappy then probably should have a larger 4 wheel drive vehicle. Worth the drive, BEAUTIFUL view with...More

We visited for the second time this June. The road to this lighthouse can vary a lot depending on weather conditions. If there has been a lot of rain it can be very muddy and full of large water puddles. Or if little rain it...More

Our family enjoys this lighthouse because not a lot of people seem to visit. It's quiet and pretty. We usually pack a cooler and picnic. While they don't have tables and grills... there's enough grass to make it work. If you're in the area I...More

Hi, just curious if you are reviewing the right lighthouse? it's true we do get fewer visitors this time of year but we do have picnic tables for our visitors and we do not have any grass . Anyway thanks for visiting and hope you...More

Worth the drive. Yes it’s a little long but not as long as other reviewers say. The road is dirt but is well maintained. The hosts were super friendly and knowledgeable.

Beautiful light in a gorgeous setting but the way to get here is an adventure of its own. Miles of rough twisting and turning sandy road. Some places are narrow and blind curves, so go slow and use extreme caution. The view from here is...More

We visited this light house while visiting Mackinaw Island. Three families in 3 different cars visited the lighthouse. The last 5 miles to the lighthouse consists of a dirt rode, which small cars should avoid, especially if it rains and the road gets muddy.Cell phone...More

Thanks for your great review. The road can be a change from time to time, however we are working with the County Road Commission to improve it. The biggest problem is the Logging Trucks tear it up faster than it can be repaired. In a...More
